No expense has been spared on the state of the art quarantine facility near Braintree, Essex boasting an impressive display of individually filtered quarantine systems, a must for any company serious about importing high quality fish. This combined with specialist knowledge on all areas of fish husbandry (water quality, health etc), the aquatics industry and the unique methods involved in transporting fish make Koi Company the ideal choice when considering your fish purchases. Koi Company are now sourcing fish direct from the breeders of Niigata, the birthplace of these 'living jewels'. Koi Company has approximately 35 of the regions top breeders on hand to provide a massive selection of all variety's and sizes of Koi Carp. Koi Company's buying power and our excellent relationships with the breeders ensure that all Koi purchased are at the very best prices, a benefit that is ultimately passed on through the chain until the fish reaches the consumer. Koi Company and Your main priority is the health of the fish. For this reason we have adopted a unique method of transporting fish from Niigata into the UK which is way ahead of our nearest competitors. Throughout the whole process, whether buying out of our own quarantine facility or consolidated, all batches of fish, from breeder to breeder and from pond to pond are kept completely separate ensuring the risks of cross contamination are kept to an absolute minimum. Not only this our flight times are reduced by approximately 6 hours due to the nature of the flight. We fly on a freighter flight direct into Heathrow. When the fish arrive at Koi Company they follow a strict programme to ensure they are correctly acclimatised and treated for parasites. The fish are then placed into their respective tanks containing salt to help reduce the osmotic stress and to help fight parasites.
